Panasonic maintain the 12 megapixels in the new FinePix F300EXR,but they added some extra features which not in previous FinePix F200EXR.The major improvement is the super CCD EXR sensor size upgraded to the 1/2 inch from the 1/1.6 inch give a better picture quality.The super CCD EXR sensor also capable of shooting a 128×720 at 24frames/sec HD videos.The same 3 inch LCD screen is used but increase in resolution to 460,000 dots for FinePix F300EXR.

But more attention shall give to the massive improvement of the lens part as Panasonic decided to give extra attraction to the new FinePix F300EXR with 15x optical zoom just for the point and shoot camera.The lens focal length range also upgraded to shot as wide as 4.4mm to 66mm compare to the previous 6.4mm-32mm,and yes Panasonic double the telephoto range!Still about the lens part,more aperture option for FinePix F300EXR ranging from f3.5 to f16.0 give more control on depth of field.Panasonic also enable faster shutter speed for FinePix F300EXR to 1/2000s for more promising action shot.Continuos shooting improvement however not so extensively upgarade,ranging from 1.5frame/sec to 4.5frame/sec depends on the shooting mode.

They added some weight to FinePix F300EXR to accomodate all the upgraded to just 195g,20g different from the FinePix F200EXR.FinePix F300EXR also a bit thicker in size compare to FinePix F200EXR.

1/1.6 is actually bigger than 1/2. They effectively decreased the size of the sensor down. This is a NEGATIVE.
